Empowering Next-Level Insights: Dune Brings Polkadot and Kusama Analytics into Focus

Unlock powerful insights for the Polkadot & Kusama ecosystem with comprehensive on-chain data and custom dashboards on Dune Analytics.

By PolkadotMarch 19, 2024

Today marks a pivotal moment for the blockchain community as Polkadot data is available for the first time on Dune, a leading open-source analytics platform for blockchain data. The result of a strategic partnership between Colorful Notion and Dune, this integration moves the Polkadot ecosystem towards enhanced visibility and in-depth analysis, enabling users to unlock new data-driven insights. By leveraging Dune's robust analytical tools, users can now delve deeper into Polkadot’s expansive ecosystem, fostering informed decision-making and strategic planning. This leap in capability will revolutionize how we measure, compare, and understand the Polkadot ecosystem.

Access to Enhanced Data Begins Now

Starting today, users have access to data from both the Polkadot and Kusama Relay Chains, alongside key parachains Astar, Bifrost, Centrifuge, Hydradx, Interlay, and Asset Hub. This provides access to previously inaccessible on-chain activity, including decoded Substrate block data tables, extrinsics, calls, events, transfers, and in-depth snapshots of select storage maps. The integration of remaining parachains is slated for April and May, broadening the scope of available data.

*Robert Habermeier, Polkadot Co-founder and Polkadot Fellow, emphasizes the critical role of data accessibility: "Visualization is a key factor in making technology tangible to more people. Deep integration of Polkadot data into Dune is a key step in making analysis—and consequently usage of Polkadot—much more accessible.”

A Community Driven Initiative

Fueled by a recent Polkadot community referendum, this integration includes a one-year enterprise-level integration of Polkadot and Kusama, Polkadot and Kusama system chains, and parachains. Colorful Notion, leveraging its deep engagement with the Polkadot community and its expertise from developing the substrate-etl, is tasked with crafting tailored dashboards for top Polkadot projects and parachains. This is but one example of the many active community members leading independent initiatives to provide key services and activities to grow awareness and adoption of Polkadot.

"We are thrilled to bring the vibrant Polkadot ecosystem together with the Dune community. Our mission has always been to illuminate the intricacies of the Polkadot and broader Substrate and Web3 ecosystem, and this partnership is a testament to that commitment,” says Sourabh Niyogi, CEO & Co-Founder at Colorful Notion.*

Fredrik Haga, Co-Founder & CEO of Dune, echoed Niyogi’s enthusiasm for the partnership: "There's always been more demand for getting data on Dune than we can accommodate ourselves. This groundbreaking partnership with Colorful Notion brings not only Polkadot and Kusama data to Dune, but their deep understanding of that ecosystem. Our mission is to make crypto data accessible, and we're thrilled to help the Polkadot ecosystem with that, together with Colorful Notion."
